Dharma Mountain

This Retreat Centre is 2 hours north of Olso. It is a well established centre set in an idyllic backdrop. In every sense it is a real retreat, up close with nature away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. If you love trees, waterfalls, the cleanest of air and mountains this is for you!

Visiting in May will be a wonderful time as the daylight hours lengthen and Spring jumps into action after the long winter months.

Cabins

There are 10 cabins in this secluded centre. Each with amazing panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and pine forests.

Each has 2 bedrooms with a double bed on the bottom and option for sharing (recommended only for close family or friend) with a single bunk on top. The beds are comfy and fluffy towels are provided. There is a shared bathroom with shower and really well equipped kitchen/living space, including filter coffee maker, oven, fridge and half have log burners. (All cabins are heated).

Studio

The yoga studio is lovely and bright with amazing view of the mountains. It has underfloor heating and there are plenty yoga mats and props so no need to bring your own, save on luggage.

Fire pit & lake

There is a lake where there is option to take a quick dip after a sauna. Also a fire pit area which would be a lovely place to hang out after dinner, maybe with a glass or mug of something yummy.

Food

There will be 3 nutritious meals provided each day and most of the food will be served buffet style and enjoyed in the lovely dining areas. If we are out and about hiking, or canoeing, a packed lunch would be provided.

Breakfast basket

A delicious selection of homemade and local goodies from blueberry jam and nut butter, homemade bread, fruit and porridge oats as well as oat milk. Food allergies and preferences will be catered for.

Canoeing Excursion

We will go on a canoeing excursion in a nearby lake. All under the expert supervision of Nandana and Hosang who are from England.

Before they moved to Norway, they had a water sports business on the South coast of Devon. They still enjoy the water ways of Norway and love to share this with people in a safe and fun way.

I met Nandana a few weeks ago on my recce and she was delightful. I'm sure we'd have a great time and a few laughs for good measure!

Transfers

Transfers to and from the airport could be arranged for around £120pp return. (Based on a minimum 13 people). The more people do this from Gardermoen Airport would mean the price would come down.

Alternatively, there are options of travelling by train. Trains run from Gardermoen Airport to Oslo central (30 minute journey) then from Oslo central to Honefoss (90 minutes journey). Honefoss it's about 1/2 drive to the venue. So this could be an option for a few to share a taxi? The hosts have advised that this might be a cheaper than the private bus transfer if less than 13 people.

What we did in 2025 is for a few of us to hire cars and arrange car shares. There are also some really good deals and this gives you the opportunity to tailor your trip and split the costs with others. The retreat centre is about 2 hours drive from the airport, and a really pleasant drive. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you'd like to hear more of my experience of this.
